‘What satisfies us’ is a question of increasing significance as globalisation and a move towards capitalism has altered society to consider simplistic indicators such as GDP above all else. I conclude that nothing tangible can satisfy us successfully and showcase this through the parallel of a similarly unfeasible event: reaching a state of Godlike power. In this piece, I sit in a bourgeois living room with a lost expression, isolated within a seemingly comfortable environment. I look upon myself holding up my head, conveying divinity and a level of power so great that it is impossible for a human being to reach, analogous to the concept of achieving complete satisfaction.
