Why should solutions to climate change be decided by politicians?

Ruaraidh Williams, 17

Peintre de Soleil’ (Sun Painter) is a composition for flute, clarinet, violin and cello. It grew from a sketch I made of a shimmering sunset that fades to a starry night and then moves to a busy, noisy, polluted city … before returning once more to a glistening sunrise. The composition (performed at Sound and Music’s summer school) expresses the tension between the quiet beauty of the natural world and the harsh cacophony of man-made environments. I’m encouraging the listener to think about these conflicting scenes and find solutions for a more harmonious, sustainable future.
