Why do we see the Scottish landscape as wild and natural?

Callum Kellie, 32

My work explores the imbalance between our perception of the Scottish landscape and what could be considered the reality. I try to piece together the myriad threads that bind the tapestry of our landscape together, in an attempt to better understand what shaped it. Applying kintsugi sensibilities to photographic prints of the signs of the control of, and damage in, the Scottish uplands, I try to highlight and question the common perceptions of what is wild or natural.
