Why did you lie to me?

Flaviana Preston, 30

This work is my attempt to express the multitude of complex and difficult emotions that I am coping with after a lifetime of believing that happiness comes by living up to outdated measures of success. It encapsulates the grief at all the inauthentic choices I have made in pursuit of perfection and social acceptability and the mental ill health that resulted.

I want to share this work as it is my first step to choosing a happier path for myself. I hope that this print might help others realise that they too are more than arbitrary scores or job titles. Self-worth is intrinsic to all of us regardless.
