Whose Scars are the Biggest?

Steven B., 20

I wanted this poem to be somewhat of a reflective piece. I feel as though the subject matter is self-explanatory but, as with everything I create, I leave the meaning to be interpretive.

It’s important that such issues are discussed and brought to light. When suppressed/repressed, these problems will only heighten and this impacts every aspect of your life. Self-acceptance and love are the main messages I’d like people to take from this piece.

I’ve never fully understood why I write and create. The arts have always attracted me and, through perseverance, practice and constant self-discovery, I aim to become one of the more memorable artists.
