Who’s hunting who?

Matthew Knights

PoetryThe Viper and the Mice, 2020

Like everybody else I was watching the news a lot at the start of the lockdown, initiated after the Covid-19 pandemic, and was appalled by the conduct of a certain economic advisor to the UK government. It felt as if there was an almost universal condemnation of it. I think a lot of people had the sense of having been ripped off, in the sense of there being one rule for those associated with the establishment and different rules for everyone else. The result was a sort of satirical fable about it.
