Who, in society, do we consider to be important?

Krishan Coupland, 31

One positive thing that has arisen from the pandemic is a collective reassessment of who, in society, we consider to be important. Our key workers are not necessarily those who pursue careers typically considered glamorous. They are not those who are most highly paid, or highly praised. There exists an army of people whose quiet and diligent work ensures that our society continues to function. With this story I hope to recognise the work and sacrifice of some of these people, and to prompt readers to think about the unseen labour that enables everything they do.
