This poem explores our constant, tiring need to impress, conform, and fit in with those around us and society as a whole. It looks at the real effect that changing our personality and looks has on an individual; how the pointed, judging fingers of others leads us down a path which gives us temporary fixes and cover up to real issues that fester and become worse and worse over time.
All the while, we should be thinking of others too. It’s not enough to think about just improving yourself; what would others think if they knew your doubts, your lack of self confidence, and unwillingness to want to be part of the whole?
