What Traces Will We Leave Behind & Why Would They Even Matter?

Adam Murdoch, 26

Most of the titles in this collection started life as a standalone piece. However, I began to realise that I seemed to be returning to the similar themes: the chaotic ease in which misinformation can be spread; the abuse, or ignorance of societal power dynamics; the vast amount of data that can be obtained on any one individual, almost submissively, in a matter of moments and; the inevitable state this world may be left in should we continue down such a destructive path. ‘What Traces..’ then, was eventually compiled to be a sometimes ironic, somewhat sardonic look at what may come to pass in a plausible future, and how we might be remembered – or studied – by those that follow us. I hope it begs the question that, if this is all there is, should we not strive to be a little more compassionate?
