While giving some money to a homeless busker in Aberdeen, he expressed his gratitude, telling me how much it would cost for a night in the shelter. It was going to take more than the few copper coins in his hat to make this possible for him. I often think about the circumstances which led to someone becoming homeless. This was my inspiration for Edith’s story. It also gave me the opportunity to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s/Dementia and the profound effect this can have on loved ones.
