FLIPSIDE aims to explore some aspects of the intricacies within the Scottish skateboarding culture. By looking into three viewpoints we learn about the upsides and downsides to skateboarding and also into the representation of females within the sport. Although mainly dominated by males, it is exciting to see the female representation rising.
The piece makes use of some ethnographic principles that aims to better represent the culture in question. They interviews are all filmed on location from a skateboard, influencing the filmer and interviewee to explore the spaces whilst conversing.
