The society we live in has a set standard of rules we should follow and how we should behave. If we don’t fit these standards it can be a struggle to fit in or adapt. Are we accepted if we are a bit different or behave in an unusual way? What if for the majority of time we meet all the standards but break them without warning? What is it like to live with the enemy inside your body, that can attack at any moment? When you walk across roads or try to form relationships. Have you ever tried walking up a downward escalator? Imagine walking up that every day. When you are dong so well at reaching the top you make one stumble and end up back at the bottom. This piece of work is about my experiences of living with epilepsy. The diagnosis, my childhood, education, employment, relationships and brain surgery.
