What is considered cartography?

Camassia Bruce, 24

Considered cartography is unlimited in its possibilities. It questions the conventions of traditional cartographic nature, offering a more fluid map-like drawing through undulating routes, contouring their way across the surface of a page. They exercise as visible remarks to topography, so fundamental yet so often overlooked. The appreciation here comes from below ground level. To build upwards, the reliance is of a foundation upon which to construct, and this is the reminder as a footprint; the boundary line playing a crucial feature in carefully containing, undistracted and untainted by colour, pattern, or texture.
