What goes through the mind of someone experiencing their own death?

Gavin Gardiner, 33

What goes through the mind of someone experiencing their own death? The unanswerable questions are always the most compelling, and this is the question I explore in my flash fiction, ‘A Dying Moment’.

Mortality as a theme in literature and art has always fascinated me, and I believe only one thing can resonate within us in the same way as the confrontation with our own death.

Love.

‘A Dying Moment’ freezes time to analyse one solitary second, weighing the two eternal fascinations of love and death against one another. Take five minutes to peer through the eyes of a man stuck between the realities of his own imminent death, the loss of his love, and the sudden slam of a stranger from above into the concrete in front of him.

What goes through the mind of someone experiencing their own death?

Find out.
