People On The Move, 2019

This is an attempt to present stories of refugees as told in their own voices, therefore challenging conventional stereotypes and media narratives of migration. Thousands of people every day are travelling along the Balkan route to find safety and work in Europe, this is about opening our ears to people on the road, migrants, refugees, and NGO professionals to learn what it is really like for them. I am submitting the first episode of a series I made as this myth-busts harmful ideas around migration, promoting informed understanding and celebrating cultural exchange. With grandparents who came to UK as refugees and benefited from seeking asylum, I want to help British people have a personal connection to stories of migration to fight xenophobia and racism.
