Anxiety is something that everyone will experience at some point in their life. The body’s fight or flight response is natural when we are exposed to danger.
However, how does it feel to live with anxiety? Not just at stressful moments but from the moment a person wakes up, adrenaline courses through their veins at an unstoppable rate. The film attempts to explore the symptoms of living with anxiety through poetry and visuals. Feelings of panic, isolation and darkness, just to name a few.
Living with anxiety can be a lonely existence, the second half of the film explores how connection with the outdoors can help reduce symptoms of anxiety, at least temporarily. In our 21st century world we forget real connection doesn’t mean sending a ‘DM’ on Instagram. Talking and listening to friends, especially in an outdoor environment, can forge real bonds and connections, make the panic and loneliness subside for a little while.
Mental health is something as a society we have neglected for so long. Conversations about mental health are life saving and it’s paramount to make sure individuals suffering with illnesses know they are not alone.
