How do you view the sky? What do you see? How does it make you feel?
These are questions I often ask myself. The sky is the biggest inspiration behind my work. Investigating light, atmosphere and colour – I create temporal landscapes within my paintings.
Through my painterly technique, I allow materiality to lead the work – conveying a sense of timelessness from an abstracted viewpoint in my landscapes. I intend to suspend the viewer, and my objective is to somehow refract time; to allow the viewer to lure in to the colourful, atmospheric work and feel that sense of temporality.
