What constitutes a sense of loss?

Jeffery Richards, 66

Having left my roots in London for the Ayrshire countryside, I am acutely aware of a sense of loss of my former life in the big city. Friends and family at the other end of the UK. Memories of times gone by. Places visited. Loss can take many forms on our journey through life. Ultimately the loss of loved ones we are attached too, can leave a gap in our lives. Shortly after arriving in Scotland our pet cat passed away and my work reflects this loss. He had cancer and on the day he died sat on my lap in the garden briefly for comfort.
