Reimagining Intimacy is an installation that asks the viewer to engage on the level to which they feel comfortable, to identify value in experience and to make sacrifices for that experience. To identify and understand the action of ‘giving-up liberties’ in order to experience.
Contemporary society has a skewed value in art, value is dictated by capital, value is awarded by the institution. The last word in art is the experience of the viewer.
I hope that this piece identifies a new value and allows for a new discussion within the viewership. The extent to which one engages dictating an entirely different experience. I would define its value as its potential ability to encourage discourse within the viewership, outside of contemporary definitions of value.
