During lockdown signs, provided by councils and officials, sprung up throughout our small rural community. They were a real mixture of sizes of styles and very soon lost their impact as people became ‘blind’ to them. I decided to produce my own versions for the community which were humorous and double-edged which I hoped would help people remember ‘the rules’. They proved very successful and popular and were displayed in our local hotel, shop, school and doctor’s surgery. I also made them as a record of the times we lived through. Posters were made as each new ‘lockdown rule’ was announced.
