Shudder at the Thought?

Conor Gray

Originally when I was painting this piece, I didn’t think of it as topical- and really, I suppose it isn’t. But every time there is some atrocity committed or there is more unbearable news about the -you know what- I think of this piece. There’s nothing complicated to it’s creation, the spectre of death holding a child. I could try and come up with some convoluted concept behind it, but what’s important, is the spectacle, the thought of why the robed figure is holding this child.
