She belongs to us, or do we belong to nature?

Emilie Robson, 26

Every Scottish writer worth their salt has paid homage to the soil they call home and worshipped their local landscape.

Scotland, to me, possesses an immeasurable majesty, born from the violence of both its history and its nature.

I believe that we belong within this land and not merely pasted on top of it. This entry gives voice to the landscape, the violence of its creation and the magnificence of nature. It reminds us to look up from our screens, log off and access the relentless beauty this land offers freely, something we need now more than ever.

I hope this piece is a celebration of the feral beauty of the north west coast of Scotland
a place that has left a deep imprint on my heart; and the hearts of all those who venture there.
