Written playThe Kit, 2019

The Kit humorously explores the socially awkward topic of ageing and health that we all must endure. It questions our coping strategies in a uniquely Scottish manner. It examines the experience of ageing, the importance of monitoring our health, that not everything runs smoothing when we are trying to be both responsible and discreet.

The central tenant of the piece is to explore the often unspoken, hidden aspects of ageing that are inherent to all of us culturally, regardless of demographics or social standing.
The play deals with this in a typically humorous and Scottish manner. However, the importance of this far outweighs the embarrassing humour, in the sense that although it is not often discussed, it is an essential preventative measure against bowel cancer. Therefore, it is hoped that this play will highlight this common yet embarrassing procedure.
