Is it a bird?

Is it a bird?

Rose Raine, 20

My two paintings are cloudscapes interrupted with plastic bags. It interested me that the great masters such as Constable and Turner had much cleaner skies and seas so if their references were birds in the sky, today ours are pollutants, seen, like plastic.

The drips in both paintings add to the sense of instability in the clouds and climate, as though the clouds are crying.

I wanted to convey a sense of impurity in such a pure scene, highlighting the issue of plastic pollution that consumes our natural environment.
