This short film was created as part of my ‘film art’ elective. I wanted to create a short film detailing the emotions felt as a survivor of sexual assault and rape. Although, no sexual scenes are present, I wanted to express the emotions I felt within myself. Even years after the incident I still feel the fear associated with my experience. I wanted to push away the stigma and taboo around sexual assault and rape, allowing survivors to come forward and feel comfortable talking about their experience. Taking away the stigma of being a rape survivor allows these amazing and brave people to become comfortable getting help. With this media I hope to show the survivors that they’re not alone and that there is support through the community.
