The act of crying has always been seen to be childish or weak. In my work I want to reclaim the act of crying and, through my own experience as an emotional person and woman, show strength in tears and emotional vulnerability. With reference to artists, such as Tania Brugera who makes work surrounding the act of crying I aim to both destigmatise crying and translate tears, which can be brought on by many different emotions, as a language of its own.
