Not wishing to sound arrogant, when I was in my second year at university studying fine a,rt I realised that I wanted to do what pleases me and nobody else. Making that decision was liberating and to this day I respond to my environment without a thought about whether the work will be liked or not. If it liked and sell that is great, if it is not liked or sold well that is fine. I feel it is better to be honest to yourself and simply enjoy the journey of artistic responses. Losing yourself in art Is a joy. Ian.
