When judging anything in this world, as humans we are quick to form opinions solely based on exterior appearances. In this shoot however, I wanted to transform the human being into a foreign creature where their ‘skin’ is a constant reflection of the emotions they are feeling. Not only would this stop us from discriminating solely based on appearance, it would also force us to be more caring and appreciative of other people’s emotions.
The question ‘do we have to look like humans’ is important to me as I often think the word ‘diversity’ as representing only skin colour or gender. In today’s world we are beginning to understand that there is no such thing as one ‘perfect human’, but what if we got rid of the desire to look like a human altogether?
