Do local businesses need local customers and support at Christmas?

Do we rally round the shops near us who compete with ‘online’ and vast marketing campaigns devised successfully in TV advertising, national press & social media?

To answer this, I compiled a short video hearing from the traders themselves and featuring them on screen and published on social media along with audio only sequences in association with the local Kirkcaldy community radio which itself is a charity supporting public issues.

The Press ignored my pleas for free publicity so with no budget I launched the video myself hoping for shares, likes and endorsements.

Many businesses from cafes to a travel agent came on board and some feature in person. I even managed to get celebrity voices to add support at this more festive if COVID-19 restricted time.

I thought it better to do something amid these tier levels and places closing and while not professionally filmed or recorded my work was produced for free and at no cost to any of the participants. The Be Vocal Shop Local was simply there to promote these workers to see if the public really do love our Langtoun of Kirkcaldy.
