Dear Pen and Paper, Can you make thoughts disappear? I began this drawing just before the Covid 19 National Lockdown. Three weeks of isolation allowed me to draw on a daily basis with the aim of covering an area the size of an A4 sheet of paper. Drawing in pen makes every mark permanent, reveals every mistake, exposes every correction. While listening to Radio 4, my drawing grew day by day and this gave me the mental space for concentration: a distraction to what was happening around me. On October 26th I finally finished my drawing. My wish is that when someone views this work they will become engrossed in the detail and, for a moment, their thoughts will disappear.
