Can identity ever be original?

Matthew Dugard

The work explore’s how we form identity in an overwhelmingly digital age. How our sense of self is constructed through cherry-picking from the world around us and collaged into our online identities. Through a fusion of traditional and digital process Mauve Maverick was constructed to mirror the way we login in and begin to build our sense of self. As artist I am fascinated with how our obsession with being different seems to make us more alike.
