Can compassion still be found in this age of brutality?

Raymond Hourigan, 36

To whom it may concern, I must say firstly that I have self -published this as an e-book recently, and that the idea behind sharing my story was to help remove stigma and taboos related to mental illness, depression and to get people talking about a subject that is very close to my heart. I have also put together my own poetry collections, many of which deal specifically with mental health issues as well as social and political themes. I’m a shy person, who has always struggled to be heard and it was people who may be in the same position that I wanted to reach. My poems and writing have gotten a great but small response online and I hope by entering the competition it might help me reach more people.

Kind Regards, Raymond Hourigan
