One of the more disturbing aspects of recent years of protests across the globe has been the increase in counter-protests of varying degrees of legitimacy, or a lack thereof. Nothing is united or whole anymore, everyone wants their voice heard, everyone wants the best deal. So the real question behind this art piece and the accompanying poem is; what common ground is left in a world so divided? I would say the actual ground but no doubt someone will lay claim to the very bedrock and charge me for walking over it.
