As civilisation expands, how does the man-made landscape intertwine with the natural?

Drew Carr, 28

This piece is one of a series of paintings that highlight the juxtaposition of the man-made and the natural landscapes. How do they coexist? Is it a relationship of tension or a seamless union? This painting depicts the old industrial fabric of Zug Island at sunset on the Detroit River. It is left to the viewer to formulate their own views on the image.
