Are you home?

Marcy Campbell, 18

Doesn’t it feel lovely to arrive back to the place, situation, or person that makes you feel that you’re right where you belong? Doesn’t it feel good to go home? I know that for me, it does. When you find yourself living in a way that truly fulfils you, everything around you seems just a bit nicer; a little more magical. I made this drawing to capture those feelings. When I saw the sculpture that the pencil drawing is based on in a public park in Paris, I felt that those stone people were at home. The feeling of warmth and happiness was unmissable. It reminded me of a quote from the book Coraline, by Neil Gaiman. When Coraline escaped the other world, and arrived back where she belonged, she thought “The sky had never seemed so sky, The world had never seemed so world”
