I make digital images by distorting photos of heads and faces. The completed images show an array of ambiguous internal and external forces working on and in unusual beings and locations. The beings and locations allow viewers to relate to the apparent situation; the abstractions and distortions make the situation unclear and hard to describe clearly or concisely.

This allows viewers to experience dense and uncanny (but relatable) moments whose origins are unclear. And, whose complexity and ambiguity preclude clear understanding or concise description using words. This shows the intense, surreal, and beastly abstractions of our embodied existence, and of the ways we use words.
