Are we worthy?

Mary Erin Kinch, 20

In the form of a fantasy short story, my piece explores a young man struggling with the notion that he will never be enough and that he is inherently unworthy of purity and innocence.

Young people, particularly nowadays, are constantly striving to be “worth” something. Often, this is to the detriment of our mental and physical health as we chase unattainable and unrealistic goals.

We are who we are. We grow and change and learn how to exist in this ever-changing world one day at a time. We are all worth something. We all deserve happiness but we won’t get it until we admit to ourselves that that happiness is not dependent on our perfection.
