Are we all living on the edge?

Claire Needham, 37

Lockdown is taking its toll on everyone’s patience and sanity, in particular those parents of young children. Here is a true and honest self portrait of an exhausted mother in what feels like the longest playdate of her life. Many may recognise the look, counting down the clock to bedtime, wanting a moment of peace and quiet, wondering if it’s too early to have a drink yet? Here is a mother literally on the edge of the table and of her sanity. We love our children and they may see us as superheroes sometimes but it’s important to remember that we are not superhuman and it’s normal and OK to feel this way, especially in these uncertain times when there is little or no balance in our lives.
