Are girls inadvertently punished for boys’ behaviour at school?

Diane Stewart, 26

The play explores how the education of young women is affected by the action of young men in shared classrooms and how standard practices in school settings can inadvertently punish students unnecessarily. The gender inequality within the classroom is explored and how small acts can have a big impact on certain groups of students. It is important because these small gender inequalities add up to create a society that is not equal and perpetuates the gender imbalance later in life.
