50 Fractured Bars

Michelangelo Mulholland

The final piece is a musical composition written on acoustic guitar. The lyrics speak of social intolerance and how Mandela’s captivity ‘spoke’ to the world about the plight of black oppression and how we must not forget those times. I wanted to include the lyrics in a written format also; so as to clarify the meaning behind the song so I created a lyrics video, composed of appropriate pictures to emphasise the meaning. The composition looks at how we can continue the work of Nelson Mandela.
