Who/What should we believe?

Who/What should we believe?

Jakub Sklář, 29

What is the truth? What’s a reality? Painfully often, it is something frustrating, disappointing or even harmful. One might say, we should do anything to avoid these. That is, however, an ambiguous suggestion. To see it coming, deal with it and face the consequences - that would be the old fashioned notion.
Nevertheless, there is also a modern way. We can perceive the truth based on the ideas, judgements and opinions of other people, groups, platforms or systems and thus, escape and lay the blame or responsibility on somebody else.
Cross your hearts, every day, we depend on agents, factors and people that can be wholly unacquainted with either the truth or reality: partners, families, friends, neighbours, fellow citizens, TV news, social networks, smart technologies. And we do believe!

This short grotesque you’re about to read is a one minute play created out of the pleasure of escaping the truth for as long as it takes.
