Where does it hurt the most?

Where does it hurt the most?

George Bruce

My entry is a live recording of my song "DayDream".

I started writing the piece in 2015 and as soon as the first verse took shape I knew it would be an ode to suffering; more specifically the line between personal hell and redemption.

I put the song down for a while, I wasn't sure where it was going. A year later, my good friend tragically took his life. I decided to finish the song and dedicate it to him, Jamie.

My fear is that no-one is safe from depression and it's devastation. Suicide is the leading cause of death in the UK in the 20 to 34 age category, and it hits men the hardest.

This song isn't an answer to the problem or the questions it brings up; it's my way of dealing with these feelings. I believe expression of the soul is how one can begin to conquer anxiety and the path that it leads towards.

The question I posed is aimed at you, the individual. Find where it hurts the most, that's where you need to listen.

Thank you and I hope you enjoy the song.
