What would life be like if we could see more colours?

Gemma Brown, 22

How colour is so important in our lives. Even if we don't notice it. A colour can make you feel something. Walk into a red living room you feel warm where as a light blue would make the room appear more cold. Imaging if we could see more hues of colour. How magical the world can look. Mantis shrimp have much better colour vision than humans (their eyes having 12 types of colour receptors, whereas humans have only three), as well as ultraviolet, infrared and polarized light vision, thus having the most complex eyesight of any animal known. Imagine how that world looks.
