My portrait titled 'Weathered' shows a fisherman that has crossed water, sailed into wind and sat under sun. As a result, his skin is weather-beaten.
This fisherman has the promise of wilderness adventure but also the challenge of making a living from what he can haul out of the sea. His way of life is now under threat from Brexit. It is likely that the UK fishing community will emerge from Brexit in a weaker position than it was before.
He covered his bright eyes with his hat, pulling it down lower as I took this shot. His decision to do this is, in many ways, a reaction to the dramatic impact that leaving the EU will have on his career. He is hiding himself from the bleak future that may threaten his life at sea.
