The Pub Experience

Apolloniya Vlasova

Captain's Bar was one of the first places I discovered in Edinburgh when I moved here. I have seen the Castle, the Royal Mile, but this place is where I really felt that I was in Edinburgh for the first time. The noise of agitated conversations, the clinking of ale glasses, the folk music played by a guitarist in the corner - all became one whirl of first impressions that I can never forget. At one point the bartender took out a violin from under the bar and joined the guitar player, some people started dancing. Since then I often go to that bar to listen to music and sketch, and it has become an inherent part of my Edinburgh life.
In this drawing, I would like to share the place that has brought me to experience such contentment and has commenced my journey in Scotland.
