This is a screenplay for a short film I wrote for a university assignment. The film deals with issues of Social Justice and can be linked in to equality and the concept of a world at peace. The film deals largely with sectarianism and a young boy’s experiences with it and attempts to overcome it. Although set in Northern Ireland, I feel that it is still relevant in Scotland as sectarian attitudes are prevalent in many parts of the country, and sectarian violence occurs here just as it does in Ireland. The underlying message is that although acts of sectarianism still occur, with open mindsets and the rejection of embittered hatred, things can and will continue to improve.
