How do we create ourselves behind closed doors so we can face the world each day?

Jessica Secmezsoy-Urquhart

Putting on the Day is a screenplay which reflects on that liminal space in life between the private and the public. Through a series of vignettes focusing on different characters the process of getting ready for the day ,in all senses of the word, will be explored. The untold stories behind every door will be revealed. The work matters as it looks at under-represented identities and relationships ,such as those of transgender and LGBT people, those with mental illness, abuse victims and partners who are also carers/cared for, in a refreshing and impactful way. It shows how the world is a stage for us all. As a person who is disabled, LGBT, a survivor and more I want to give voice to experiences that people need to know about. The loves and lives behind every closed door and shut window.
