Isolation, Solitude and Despair. Sometimes people choose to isolate themselves from the world and from human contact due to struggles in life.

The hooded figure sits alone on a bench choosing to be alone. He is devoid of any colour to symbolise his isolation and loneliness. The woods is where he finds peace and solace and hides him away from society. The quietness of nature doesn't influence his mind and he is more in control of what he thinks. The bright colours in the background suggest life still goes on and is contrasting to the figure in both colour and the feelings they induce.

When I look back on this piece I see the despair in the figure and how he escapes to his own place. The bright colours indicate that there is always hope and a tomorrow for anyone who is feeling down.
