Achievement, Humanity and Tradition would be the category I say my work fit into. The work itself is inspired by nature and the process that works with ceramics, I create a glaze from materials like granite and seaweed I sourced myself from Aberdeenshire and focused on traditional method of throwing. The collection I created called ‘HAAR’ shows that I can create beauty from what I can dig up or collect myself and try to avoid using bought materials. Working from the earth and what it can give me. Tradition/Traditional values were a key element with the project as I wanted to create the work hands on and with it being ceramics, throwing on a wheel seemed fitting for the outcome I wanted. What I achieved from this collection of work is my own self-value as a maker and understanding in what I need to do to produce work. The work helped me develop myself and create new ambitions for the future.
