BENEVOLENCE. I wrote this poem for my friend's twenty-first birthday, my first and closest friend since coming to study in Edinburgh. It's hard for me to admit that my time in Scotland is slowly coming to an end, but they say the first city you move to is the one that stays with you forever. She has been there for each of my milestones, and I can say with my whole heart that I would not be the woman I am today without her. STIMULATION. Creative thinkers have a habit of immortalising the world around them, or at least trying to hold onto moments before they become memories. Some moments feel more fleeting than others, like the idea that I might not remember the people or places that mean so much to me now. But I suppose that’s why we write them down.
